If SaintBackup shuts down
Our commitment: if SaintBackup shuts down, activated software keeps running forever.
You buy backup software for long-term peace of mind — not to depend on whether we are still around. That is why the SaintBackup server is only a convenience:
| Function | When the SaintBackup server stops |
|---|---|
| Backup via connection methods 1 and 2 | Works normally — the Agent and Center talk directly |
| Backup via your own R2/S3 bucket | Works normally |
| Backup via the SaintBackup relay | The Agent keeps backups in its spool; switch to your own bucket or method 1/2 |
| Opening the Center | Normal if already activated |
| Prepare, restore, restore test | Normal |
| Adding Agents | Use a direct pairing code |
| AI assistant, reminder emails, buying keys | Suspended — no effect on data |
The backup format is standard mariabackup inside a zip file: you can always restore on your own with MariaDB's tools — see Manual restore.
