Privacy Policy
What data SaintBackup collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data.
Effective date: November 9, 2026
This policy explains how [COMPANY NAME] ("SaintBackup," "we," or "us") collects and uses data when you use the saintbackup.com website and the SaintBackup software.
1. The most important part: your backup data
- Backups are end-to-end encrypted and stay on your own machine (the one running Center).
- SaintBackup does not access the contents of your databases.
- If you use connection method 3 through SaintBackup's relay (coming soon), your backups pass through the relay and are stored there temporarily for up to 60 days in encrypted form. SaintBackup cannot decrypt this data.
2. Usage statistics from the software
Once a day, Center sends the following aggregate statistics to SaintBackup's servers:
| Category | Data |
|---|---|
| Identification | Center machine ID (a random string with no personal information); Serial Key (if any) |
| Environment | Software version; operating system; MariaDB version; connection method in use |
| Usage volume | Number of Agents; number of databases and tables backed up; number of backup files and total storage size; data received that day |
| Health | Number of restores and results of test restores; time of the most recent backup |
| Network | IP address and the country inferred from it |
Never sent: your data, database names, table names, passwords, or encryption keys.
Purpose: operating licensing, providing technical support, and analyzing usage to improve the product.
By using the software, you agree to this collection. An option to turn off usage statistics may be added in a future version.
3. Website account data
When you create an account and buy a license, we store:
- Email, full name, company, country, and language.
- Password — stored only as a hash (PBKDF2); we never know your actual password.
- Order history and Serial Keys.
- IP address and browser information when you sign in — used to protect your account and prevent fraud.
We use this data to manage your account, issue and manage licenses, process orders and refunds, send renewal reminders, and provide support.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by PayPal. Your card details are handled by PayPal under PayPal's own policies; SaintBackup does not store card numbers. We only receive the information needed for your order from PayPal (transaction ID, amount, payment status, and the payer's PayPal account email).
5. AI Assistant (coming soon, version 1.1)
The AI Assistant works only when you choose to use it. When you do, logs and configuration with secrets removed are sent to an AI model provider for analysis. If you do not use this feature, no data is sent for this purpose.
6. Third parties that process data
| Provider | Role |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Website infrastructure; account data is stored in Cloudflare D1 |
| Brevo | Sending email (confirmations, orders, renewal reminders, support) |
| PayPal | Payment and refund processing |
| AI model provider | Analyzing logs/configuration when you choose to use the AI Assistant (coming soon) |
These providers may process data on servers located outside Vietnam. We share only the data each one needs to do its job. We do not sell your personal data.
7. Data retention
We keep account data while your account is active, and afterward for as long as needed to meet legal obligations (such as accounting and tax records) or resolve disputes. Temporary data on the relay (if used) is kept for up to 60 days.
8. Security
We use measures such as end-to-end encryption for backup data, PBKDF2 password hashing, and recording IP and browser information at sign-in to detect unusual access. No system is perfectly secure, so please also keep your password, Serial Key, and encryption keys safe.
9. Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, or delete the personal data in your account, and withdraw your consent, to the extent permitted by law. Please note that some data (such as order history) may need to be kept to meet legal requirements, and for now the only way to stop usage statistics is to stop using the software. To make a request, email support@saintbackup.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The new version will be posted on the website with its effective date; for significant changes, we will notify you at your registered email address.
11. Language and governing law
This policy is available in Vietnamese and English. If the two versions differ, the Vietnamese version is the original and prevails. This policy is governed by the laws of Vietnam; disputes will be settled by a competent court in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
